Tan-y-Mynydd Trout Fishery

is proud to be involved with

'Bringing an interactive fishing experience to those with special needs'

Fishing in the face of Adversity

Charity is an integral part of the ethos of Freemasonry and the fishing events that we organise are part of our personal commitment to working in the community.

Anyone who has fished will know how enjoyable it is to spend a few hours in the peace and tranquility of the British Countryside.

We want to help others, who would not normally have the opportunity, share and benefit from the pleasure that fishing in natural surroundings can bring.

We also do it because we enjoy it and find helping others personally rewarding.

The charity has changed lives by providing a stimulating fishing experience for groups of youngsters and adults with special needs.

Our network of regional branches has carefully risk assessed a number of fishing venues in the area, where it is safe for people, with varying types of special needs, to fish. During the year each local branch organises a number of hands on fishing events where participants can experience the thrill of catching fish, under the guidance of experienced anglers. Although our fishing venues are set in peaceful and picturesque locations, we make sure that all of our events are easy to get to, and where possible, have wheelchair access.

How can you help?

We can't offer this unique experience without the help of experienced fly anglers who are prepared to donate their time and knowledge. You can help by offering to join our nationwide register of Approved Casters and taking part in some of the events organised by your local branch. Although we are a Masonic Charity, our volunteer casters do not have to be Freemasons.

If you would like to volunteer to be a caster please contact:
